BBC has the skinny. Apparently some passwords were obtained through a phishing scam. The result is all of us have been receiving messages and updates on Facebook that link to bogus sites.
Security experts say part of the problem is that members are using passwords that are just too weak, ones like family or pet names that are often on a person’s homepage and so can be easily guessed.
Just a reminder…keep your passwords strong. Mixed case, numbers, and symbols should all be included if the site you are registering on allows them.
