If  you are already running WordPress 2.7, you should see a little message in your dashboard today letting you know that WordPress 2.7.1 has been released. There were 68 issues resolved in this release–none of them security related.

One of the really nice things about WordPress 2.7 is the one click update feature.  Previously you needed a plugin to updte automatically, but WordPress now ships with this feature.

Although there aren’t any security risks identified and fixed here, I recommend staying up to date with the latest releases. If nothing else, staying current keeps the little messages out of your dashboard.  😛

If y’all update to 2.7.1, I sure would like to know how it went and what issues it causes. NIT is on 2.7, but these upgrade always break something, so I’m always at aleast a month behind everyone else breakign their sites so I can make sure it doesn’t happen to me. Thanks for the post!

    Should have noted that Christian…

I keep up with the release candidates (betas) on a test blog for that very reason.

We’re upgraded to 2.7.1 on NTZ, haven’t seen any issues. I’ve also updated on several other WordPress sites and haven’t encountered any issues yet. I’ll be sure to note anything that causes a problem here.
